Dunes and Oasis
Dunes Golden
Dunes of Merzouga: Merzouga dunes are about 53 km from Erfoud (southern Morocco), there are a series of stunning dunes of an orange sand forming in the desert of Erg Chebbi. Some of these dunes sometimes come up to 150 meters high and go even to dominate the village of the same name. A legend says that these dunes are the punishment inflicted by God the inhabitants of the former village Merzouga that long ago when they were partying, dénièrent for a woman and her children. From there, a huge sandstorm rises and covered them forever.
Caravans South
Civilization Unplugged: Converted to Islam at the beginning of the period Almoravid, the Saharan region and neighboring Mauritania was the cradle of Berber peoples who founded the dynasty. From the late thirteenth century, nomadic Arab tribes took over the region and language berbère disparut progressivement.
Cette dernière fut réalisée au XII ème siècle, sous le règne du Sultan Almohade Yacoub El Mansour et tire son nom Berber tribe of the "Askourine, who lived there at that time.
La Palmeraie Tineghir: It looks like a garden of Eden, where water sings seguiats. It wraps all of a sudden the little yellow or green fields of oats, corn or limonite and the silhouette of palm trees cleared.
Saharan Oasis
The Oasis tamp: oasis of greenery in the mountains at the foot of Djebel Bab-n-Ouayad, whose summit ridge rises to an altitude between 2300 and 2800 meters.
The Oasis Thirmart: Long and large oasis, the latter covering about one thousand families. A beautiful earthen architecture spreads out to the right surrounded by palm trees that surround it.
